Hi Gang,
Anybody heard anything about the Snow Rodeo scheduled for March 15-17 in Burlington? Haven't seen anything out on it. We have miles of frozen lake. Snow depth is currently about 3 inches. May have a dump by the end of the weekend.

WE had snow until friday. Wind blew 30 to 40 and the snow blew to Canada. At Sandbar, there is a 300 foot wide snowband that parallels the beach. IT is fine in a NW. Good rides yesterday in 20 to 30 kts. Hard surface. There is an amazing amount of ice. Cars and trucks driving miles offshore. The ice is clear enough for blades, if you manuver around the occaisonal frozen drift.
Sounds like some chances for snow before the weekend. A couple of inches of wet stuff would be good.
Anybody have any details on the event. I live here, so it won't be hard to attend.

We still don't have much snow. Some areas are clean ice, and others have a melted down snow surface. Several opportunities for some snow before the weekend. I would recommend that anyone coming bring gear for ice kiting, just in case. I will post conditions as they evolve. Should have about 30 kts and ice for the next couple of days. Very fast!!!

The Snow Rodeo has been Cancelled.....
Due to Hockey-Like Conditions The Snow Rodeo has Been Cancelled
Due to icy conditions with no snow, we have decided to pull the plug on the 2nd attempted running of The Snow Rodeo. Reports from the lake this morning were no snow, gray solid ice, and warming temps with evening freezes. This means only more ice in the future. With these conditions in mind and also for the safety of the participants, we have decided to cancel the event to save everyone a frustrating and potentially punishing weekend. We apologize for any inconveneince this may have caused. If you have signed up for lessons with us for Saturday, please call our booking office at 866-REAL-KITE so we can reschedule your lesson.
Lake Champlain normally provides excellent conditions for snow kiteboarding with wide open space and consistent breeze. The locals are very friendly and there are often 10 or so riding every day when the conditions are good. According to the locals, this year saw storms tracking further south, which left their normally snowy playground starved of precipitation. We can only hope for better conditions for the rest of this month and next year.
Respects to the Champlain Crew ! We'll see you guys in Hatteras this spring !
