I've done a little kite skiing, i've never surfed, waked but I did skateboard when I was young. I'm 82KG and 1,83 long. I just want to get started and as easy as possible riding in quite small wind, using a 7.5sqm foil.
Any suggestion on which board to start with?
I've heard people who tried with a large board and never got up but with a smaller on got up directly? Any comments?
thx.

thats true it is difficult for newbees to ride big directional boards
at the beginning you dont need absolute light wind end tools anyway
board range 165 - 185 and kite size 12Wipika/16Naish are in my view best suited for healthy dudes your size
Cheers

sorry forget your kite type was foil
7.5 is good for 4/5 Bft skale
I learned on a 9.5 which was great cause it showed me my limits
at 4/5 Bft which may get pretty wild at sea with waves running over you and such
I know guys who learned on a 7.5 during the summer highs and they had to wait a lot for the wind
but it may turn out fantastic for you esp if you have steady winds there and the power of a 7.5 m2 foil wont give you sucha hard time
Take care!

Hi, I am 130 lbs and am riding a 147 drake (slingshot) and fuels (10 and 14 and 6). I have no problem riding this gear or starting on this. Take a lesson and practice in good conditions and you should be fine. I started with more intermediate gear because I learn fast and come from a board riding background. A smaller board needs more power, but you can avoid being overpowered more easily.GOOD LUCK!
