Have you had the chance to try your new kites yet?
You have to let us know what you like about them and what you don't like about them. All I want is the truth, because that is how we can improve for 2009. This is my personal e-mail: dimitri@eclipsekites.com

The brown box look well. can you tell me more about that in your review..

Lol... I've only been able to get out 3 times on the new 08 eclispe kites, but loved every second. They will be hard to beat next year.

Had a go on the Thruster 8m just to get a feel of it without the board. The one pump works very nice. The ball to stop the air coming out is great.

Kite looks nice in the air I must admit, green and gold/yellow is good even though I'm more of a red person.

The kite was very stable in the air, did not backstall/hindenburg etc even amongst the lulls - which is just what I was after as my previous C kite and bow would fall out of the sky at times.

I purposely let it hit the water to practise water relaunch. I was unable to do so - most likely due to a lack of technique/skill/practise and wind. I need to practise.

I probably should have taken out the 16m if I felt more confident but I was being extra cautious as the winds were onshore and gusty.

One guy was out on a Rebel 14m, another on a Waroo 11 and another on a helix of some size.

Could someone please advise which ring I should put the leash on when I want to self land or just kill the kite by myself? There are 3 rings - one in the centre and two on either side of the o shit? handles?

Thanks

Hey sburlo, was that you with the green and black (i think) kite out at Casurina this arvo?

With the self landing, I could never do it properly with my kite it stronger wind. The way I sometimes do it is bring the kite down the the edge of the window and rest it on the ground. Let go of the bar, then pull on the top front (ie top center) line as you walk towards the kite. It should then fall leading edge down into the wind. I just find that its easier to get someone else to land the kite for me :D, and where I kite, theres always someone around.

Thanks Skiddz for the tip. I use to go out awhile ago alone during a weekday arvo so it is handy to practise in case I'm in the situation again.

Yeah that was me out at Casuarina, it is the first time I have dared to go out in onshore winds for a long time.

It was lucky for me Puetz was there to help me set up and launch - in the last 2 years I probaby can count how many times I have been out on one hand.

I'm guessing you may have been finishing as I was starting, but can't remember what kite you may have been flying as I was too eager to get my kite ready.

I can liken my situation to someone who has just received a new Ferrari but is still on their L plates. :o
