PODCAST #102:

Every Thursday evening, The Kiteboarder Magazine and the ASNews.net crew gives you the chance to ask questions and interact directly with guests from pro riders to designers and more!

Just back from a successful demo at the first annual La Ventana Classic and KiteXpo in Baja California Sur, Mexico, our guests this week are the founders of Eclipse Kites, Chris Cousins and Dimitri Maramenides. We will also have a special cameo appearance with Dimitri's 5-year old son, Cameron.

Got a question for Eclipse about their new 2008 gear, Skywalker boards, riding or teaching your kids to kite? You can either join the live podcast this Thursday and talk directly to Chris, Dimitri and Cameron or post your questions here no later than this Thursday 3p PST and we will ask your questions for you.

Did anyone listen to this podcast?

I started to play it but Dimitri's audio was SO loud and distorted compared to Chris' that was faint, and Ryan's that was just right. Anyway, the distortion in Dimitri's vocals made it extremely annoying to listen to so I bailed out. Its a shame when that happens as everyone took the time to call in and we may miss out on some good content.

Anyway, I wanted to know if the sound smooths out and I should give it another try?

I understand the troubles with cell phones calling in from all over the world. I'm not a hater! Just asking....

Otherwise, love the podcast. Keep it up. :thumb:

hi Todd,
So sorry but we could not stabilize the audio levels in the earlier part of the podcast. It does get better about 1/3 or midway through.

We're upgrading our gear which will hopefullly improve the sound quality when we have multiple guests. This will take another few weeks....

Thanks for the support and know that we're working on it!

Tell Ryan to have some balls and teach people how to speak into a cell phone before going on the air.

Or use land lines.

Dwight,
We do a sound check 5-10 minutes before the live podcasts to adjust sound levels. They were both on land lines. Believe it or not, sometimes cell phones come through better. For instance, the recent interview with Pat Rawson. We did a sound check on the land line, it didn't sound good, he called back on the cell phone and it was better.

That's good to know, Marina. Thanks! I'll give it another listen to get the scoop and hear Dimitri's usual upbeat kite stoke!

The sounds checks are still not working. I listened for 5 minutes and gave up. Chris and Ryan sounded fine. Dimitri was blowing the speakers out in my computer.

New system is needed.
