Riding Blind??

Postby Satan » Sun May 21, 2006 10:39 am

I'm trying to learn to ride blind. I can sort of do it on occasion, but don't seem to be improving despite dedicating entire sessions to the task. Anybody have any advice, photos on proper form, etc.?

When you go to throw your body around to blind the most important thing is to look around with your head so that you can actully see down wind from your possition! 2nd important tip is to try to keep that handle in neer you ass as close as possable!

If you're trying to ride blind while being hooked in then keep kite at 45 and pop up and bring the front foot around. Land looking at your new tail of the board then spot your foot then once locked in look at where you're riding from. The kite isn't going to move much. Set your front hand up on the bar with the chicken loop line going between your fingers and when you go to rotate for the landing twist your bar with your wrist.

A truly important thing to do, to keep up with the speed, is to let your harness a little more loose than usual, to let it rotate in the direction of the kite....otherwise, in a gust the kite will put you in the water...
Other little things... when you rotate, look DOWN, not only back - this is curcial
To gain some speed while riding blind, put some weight slowly on your new front foot.
Good luck!
