extreme hotels...any good...

Postby est » Mon Feb 25, 2008 6:10 pm

Hi Guys

I lately read from somebody who had recently been to Cabarete, that they had hoped the eXtreme Hotel would be better.

Can anyone give me some information about that place.

Are the rooms clean & safe?
Did they finish the common kitchen as stated on their website?

Who else has been there lately

All the best from
Est

It depends what you're after really. I don't think that there's anything else for $40 per night on Kitebeach.

Rooms - basic. Bed, chest, bit minging, but depends how fussy you are. Rooms seemed to have either a ceiling fan or hot water, but not really both.

Bar is good, there's the skate ramp and stuff. The kitchen wasn't finished when we were there a couple of weeks ago, but I'm lead to believe it's sorted now.

I think one of the reviewers on Trip Advisor put it quite well - 'I would not bring my wife here as she's higher maintenance than this place can provide'. However - if you just want a bed and a good atmosphere, then you'll do OK. It's about a 15 - 20 min walk into town, but you'd probably want to take a moto at night (100 pesos each way, ish).

Bring a mozzie net or repellent. We got eaten big time. I also found it quite noisy, as it's close to the road and they're not that big on vehicle maintenance.

So good points and bad, but I think it's getting better all the time.

Hey Est,

I work with eXtreme and can answer any questions you may have. I don't live in Cabarete anymore but I visit often. I got back from my last trip on Saturday and here is what I can report:
  • The hotel is pretty full so make sure book ahead if you do want to come.

Painting is going this week. The hotel is getting a new facelift to make it look better.

    Common Kitchen is ready now.

Skateramp is going on, Kite Center is rolling.

    Laundry service is now offered.

New coffee shop and surf shop about to open in a week in the front of the hotel.
As for those talking about the hot water / fan. That is being fixed on a on going basis. If something doesn't work ask the manager and they will solve it on the spot.

Any other questions...I'm here....

Vlad

Somebody on tripadvisor, said there where mold in the rooms.

I like it basic as well, but mold is maybe a little bit to eXtreme.

But maybe he also just got the worst room.

it's bohemian living, simple clean and fun.

we make an effort to correctly represent the place because it's not for everyone. those that do like it here tend to love it.

we have no problem filling up the place because it's the best value and most fun on kite beach by far.

the bar is open and we are working on getting the kitchen back up and running. the common area kitchen is underway as well.

any questions, just email us at info@extremehotels.com
