I'm looking for a light wind kite, and I've heard great reviews from users of both kites. Three biggest concerns for me are:
1. Upwind ability - I have a wipi '01 16.4 (22 surface) and it's almost impossible to go upwind with
2. Speed & Jumps - The problem with bigger kites is they move so slowly it makes for difficult jumping
3. Stability/relaunchability - Although I almost never drop the kite, every once in a while it will happen. My biggest problem is having the kite fall to the side and out of the sky when it luffs. The very high ar of the x2 makes the relaunching seem very difficult.
4. OK, I couldn't do it three
. Quality - How long will the kite hold up? Both kites look pretty flimsy to me.
Thanks for the help

Hi Henrik,
do you mean 14-16 sqm surface area?
Both kites are great, the X2 looks stronger.
Therefore the Skoop is lighter. The Skoop s with a bridle which makes restarts easier.
Both kites have a great lift and hangtime according to the tests I saw.
I guess the X2 is more aggressive and the Skoop smoother to ride, depending on what you prefer.
The Takoon bar has 3 quick releases, the X2 only one at the depower loop.
Hope that helps.

Why dont you consider the f.one 15.1 or 18.1. I heard the 18.1 is one of the fastes big LEI-kites there's..

Hi,
first of all, what I have heard of the 16.4 is that it is an upwind machine, so you must be doing something wrong.
Anyway, yesterday evening I tried my Skoop 12.5 (17 surface area) and I am really impressed. It has much more pull than an AB 11.8 (16 surface area) steers really fast. Ans the kite is incredibly light -> much better lightwind performance.
I hope I can try it on the water this weekend.
