Sad to hear this. Wonder what happened? Heart attack? The headline referenced an "accident" but the article made no mention of an accident.

My sincere regrets go out to the man's family and friends. I am sorry for this passing of this kiteboarder.
I think I visited this beach when we were on Kauai. I recall it was a locals spot, an important caution was avoiding drifting close to rock cliffs downwind. Also the waves can really run up the beaches there at times. The winds for Saturday afternoon didn't seem all that strong per ikitesurf in Poipu about 15 mph gusting to 23 mph east to east northeast. It would be helpful to learn more about what may have happened if possible.

Irving was a great friend and he'll surely be missed. One of the nicest people you could ever meet. He was living the dream having just moved recently to Kauai with his wife and little girl. Our hearts and prayers are with you good buddy, and with your wife Katy and your daughter Madison. You will be missed!!! R.I.P.

Any ideas on what happened?
Was he someone who participated in this forum? There aren't that many kiters on Kauai. Seems like a pretty small group.
Thankful for the good things we experience every day.
