I do not think that yo can suggest one brand and model type. The best harnas is the one that fits you the best. But anyway you should consider a harnas that is made for kitesurfing.

I use a Dakine Fusion Seat.
Perfect for me, gives me great support for the back.
Also tried the ProLimit harness, good as well.
If you need to support your back, make sure it is real stiff at the back. Some harnesses are so soft which will kill your back.
Try them before buying for size and support.

I agree with Toby. Try the Da kine and check you can wear impact vest on it. I think after the tragic news we've got we all should care more for protections.

Pro limit. More comfortable, less bulky great durability, stands by the warranty if you have any problems..

I've been using a Dakine Tabu waist for the last while and find it is perfect. Super comfy fior long periods on the water and seems pretty well constructed. Also upgraded with the spreader bar pad.

Royce,

Which prolimit? I currently use the dakine fusion but every time I jump the leg straps pop off, not to mention that I keep ripping the ass out of them. I was looking at the seat combo and seat pro by prolimit, which would you recomend?

Anyone got an opinion on the Naish High Back Seat? It looks like a good compromise between seat and waist, but it's not available in Australia. Would like to hear from anyone who's tried one before I mail order one

I am happy with my Cabrinha waist harness but there are other good ones.

Here is what you do NOT want
-lots of buckles and thing to snag lines on
-a bar that falls off when one side is loosened
-a back without a grab handle for rescues
-a spreader bar that is not stainless steel
