I'm planning to go to Rhodes island in the end of May. Could somebody write the best kites spots and kiting conditions (wind, flat , waves). Is it good for wave riding?

Stayed a week at Kremasti last year in july, wind each day. Going back for a week this year, but this time going to stay in Fanes, but most likey going to rent a car for travelling to Prassonisi and Kremasti (I've heard that the beach in Fanes aint as good as Kremasti, but not sure..)

The beach in fanes is great but the wind is always a bit lesser than in kremasti.
The kiteclub at fanes arranges a 3-mile downwinder every noon for around10 euros with a boat following the kiters.
Enjoy !

Yeah, thats mainly the reason I am going to Fanes.
Going alone is a little bit boring, and last year I stayed at a hotel in Kremasti called "Kremasti Memories" it was quite good, and close to the beach, but still boring being the only kiter at the hotel. So going to Fanes where I guess there is more kiters at the hotel I am staying. With a car it is easy to go to Kremasti anyway if I find the wind at Fanes shitty, and I really want to try the downwinder. The kitecenter at Kremasti Beach wasnt really good.

Yeah the fanes crew are nice, friendly people and most of all professionals, you'll enjoy your time there. Plenty of kiters at the beach and a good atmosphere. You'll need a car though 'cause you won't have the best time at night there .... the party is at rhodes town !!!!

I've been 3 times all in June/July. My impression:
Prassonisi in the south has a big kite scene. It's really more on-shore shore break than waves, but it does make for some nice ramps. Google will turn up plenty of photos and videos, e.g.,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmWphX0CP-8" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
If it wasn't for the drive, I'd prefer Prassonisi. But because of the drive, I found it better to kite Kremasti (near the airport) and be near the social action.
Super reliable place in summer. Every day I've been there I kited. I don't know about May.

hi all,
planing to go to Rhodes in mid of August. Would like to go to Parossinisi, but as my girlfriend and a bunch of no kiting friends are going too I'll have to choose another spot.
Our travel agencies don't offer hotels in Kremasti, only Yalysos and Ixia, which are quite close i suppose and of course Faliraki, Rhodes and etc.
So my question is wich location or hotel would you recomend me to choose that have a kiting spot and a nice beach, so that everyone was happy?
or maybe it is imposible when you have holidays with non kiting firends?
thanks
aero
