Can you comment on the performance of the new Xbow IDS and how it compares to the SB3? (Lets use the 10m size when comparing). Can you touch on points such as:
jumping
turning speed
kite setting you prefered on IDS (ie light or lighter setting)
unhooking
depower
stability in light to strong winds
upwind
Do you find that the Xbow IDS is a tweaked out SB3 or do you find that it is totally different in feel and performance?
I think you were using the Xbow IDS in the Real Comp instead of the SB3, and was wondering what size kite you used in the really light surf? The word was you were kiting in the surf when other kiters struggled to even get going.

Jumping-way way higher, loftier
turning speed-similar, but pivots quicker
kite setting- the light
unhooking-similar but its a close call
depower-way more
stability-more
upwind-same
I was using a 10m cross bow IDS during most the SSS event.
No comment about the other thing haha
check out this link for a podcast about what i was riding
hope that helped!

And what about feeling of the Crossbow IV VS SB III ?
Is the bar pressure as light as the SB III, as smooth as the SB III?

Can you comment on the location choice for the event. Gilgo is a very crowded private beach open to non-residents for a hefty $30 or $35 parking fee. A HUGE thread has raged about how this location is a bad choice for a demo on the private NYC yahoo group. People have commented about this and the possible problems on the iKiteSurf forums such as previous demos that have gone bad and could have possibly threatened access.
Link to the thread on iKiteSurf which is VERY short compared to what happened on the yahoo group:
http://forums.ikitesurf.com/viewtopic.php?t=10764
I myself (as well as many others) would love to attend the demo as would others, but have chosen not at the expense of risking access to one of the pearls of the south shore of long island.

Damn! I'll miss the demo - I'm stuck in Hawaii kiting warm clear waters, dodging turtles. But my Xbow IDSes are already pre-ordered anyway.
Have fun guys... glad you changed the venue. Watch that Cedar current... it can drag you downwind even if you're fully powered.

Shite, I will also miss this gathering.
My only consolation is that my 11 IDS is working fine in all conditions and I am sharing the same kite with my two sons (90kgs, 75kgs, 40kgs)
Wish you guys goods wind.

Nico/Jon,
What is your take/opinion on the new IDS system not using the overide2 sleeve and tension ring? Would you prefer some level of stopper system or do you feel this is not an issue?
