I personally don't like the de-power on the loop, but I am sure I get used to it. No EZ lock stopper? Can I put a EZ on the 09 setup? But then again, I have to wait to see how I like it. I am sure I love it, just like the 08 stuff. Less stuff on the bar is always a plus. Can't wait to get my gear. Had an awesome session today. actually did an down then UP-winder of 4 miles today(total 8 miles) (12m Thruster, gusting to 30, 10ft waves) ...on a 128 TT...

Looking forward to the new gear.
My personal wish for next year would be a chickenloop that "locks" in place when unhooked like the naish loop has done since 05. Just make it fit the shape of the hole in the bar.
And then a release that is symetric and centered so that you can grab it with right or left hand without having to look at it. And preferably a push away release since that never accidentally release when hooking back in.
But then again this is all a matter of preference and I fully understand if others have other demands on their gear. And also that it might be a matter of whats cost efficient to produce.
I mean, I can always just swap the CL... Anyways, keep up the good work. And I'll get back to enjoying my 08 thrusters for now. Cheers //Joel

"The QR has been redesigned to offer what we call Universal Release this take the 360 to a new lever allowing the user to pull, push way, pull sideways...or any direction and the QR will release. So all users can operate the QR without anything to get used to."
to me that sounds like a nightmare. I mean how often is the quick release used. I know its necessary but i see no need to make it so easy to release. Do you want people to kite or be ejecting there kite all the time? What motion won't engage the quick release system? I have seen the 08 QR release with little or no direct input to release itself, putting riders in precarious positions, once even dragging a rider across a dock.
trusting your safety to a rubber band holding your chicken loop together? love the kite but feel like i am walking on egg shells when using the bar.
Eclipse,
Please rethink your chicken loop setup and go back to something already proven to work and not release whenever touched the wrong way

Eclipse,
Please rethink your chicken loop setup and go back to something already proven to work and not release whenever touched the wrong way Don't know if you understand the QR completely. The rubber ring is just a secondary to keep the clip in place. Works without, but might be a bit iffy. I understand your concern: Why re- invent the wheel? I don't think the de-power on the chicken loop is safe either, but they are just following the flow. The current system works but gets tangled. (sometimes) AS long as the QR is the same and the De-power is better then SS's , ...hope it works. PS: with their current system I am able to re-connect the QR with one hand no problem....and I love it. Safe and reliable . I hope it stays this way. ...and it never does anything funky, unless I do it, like release it by mistake...which is a great test on if it works and how good you are in getting it back together.

how do you release it by mistake? thats what i am talking about, it releases if you even hit the thing or however you do it by mistake, doesn't matter how easy it goes back together.

The only way the current releaser will release is if you hit the trigger some how, other then that it will never release and if you tighten the rubber it will not release very easy even if you do hit it on accident.
Now for 2009 the quick release will not be able to open up if you hit it on accident because there will be no trigger on the releaser.
The rubber we use is no ordinary "rubber band" this is an industrial rubber made in france that can last 3 years under normal use without and wear or breakdown.
We will make a video on the bar soon.

hitting the trigger is not the primary way to initiate the QR is it?
don't see a reason to have such a touchy second option.
