love that description


I've been racking up some great sessions on the 9 lately - this past week's been classic.

Honestly - there's a bunch of kites that I love and really rate - but this one is definitely the most fun!!!

If I was to criticise something - it would be that with my leash clipped to the ring on the chicken loop - I kept getting whacked on the side of the head unhooked - so now I clip straight onto the depower rope just above the chicken loop....

Can anybody compare the Rabit kites against the Eclipse Nano 9/12, I have both the Nano 9 and 12 but would like to have a comparison as they are both low aspect kites.

yeah, i think you may be right with the leash, have not experienced that myself, need to unhook more to find out. If that ring on the loop was fixed it might be better, it tends to move around, With the mini 5th it stays put though.

You're right about kites, I still love my Torches and will probably not give them up, but this kite is more fun somehow. Gotta keep riding them and see what i think in a few months.

Have you experienced any Hindenberg situation?

Curious to know as it is often reported in other riders reviews seen so far on some forums

I have myself not experienced Hindenberg during the day I tested the Gypsi and the Smoke, but a friend of mine did a few times.

This is the only potential issue which stop me from getting a few Rabbits right now.
I like knowing that my kite is waiting quitely above me when I'm washed in a wave, drifting gently and not falling from the sky because the lines are loose.

I have to test the kites more....and decide...

Rabbit has one of the lowest AR, so, I guess, it would be one of the least to "Hindenburg" at slow air flow.
Then of course you can adjust kites movement by changing the bridle connecting points.

My Smoke has hindenburged several times too....shawn? anybody?

i think it is all in the correct trimming of the kites , first time out it hapened to me once but i had the
kite trimmed incorrect ( relaunce is very easy so no problem )
since then no hinderburg at all ,rock steady and very predictable .
you have to experimend with the settings , if it fly,s backwards pull a bit on the trim line
and then it is correct . ken from skybandiz gave me a few tips on trimming them and from
there all oke !! there is a wainmanhawaii group on facebook with some tips on settings did not look at it myself but might be wearth while

The Hindenburg effect happened to me as well my first flight. I fly my kite only in a few settings and either way you fly it, if you are flying the kite in low winds for it's category ALWAYS fly at least at 11:00 or 1:00 NEVER at 12:00 and a bit sheeted in.

Let me also add this...you can fly the kite overhead, but in low winds don't have the bar sheeted out all the way.
