i edge as much as possible then send the kite through the power zone up to neutral zone (on a bow kite) and release my edge then when you're getting ready to land reposition your kite to keep on going and bend your knees to reduce impact

i go as fast as possible edge really hard have my kite at 45 degrees than send my kite at 11 oclock when riding right foot forward and release my edge once its about to reach 11 or when it does reach 11.
if you ride left foot forward do the same but send ur kite to 1 oclock.
dont let ur kite fall behiind ur head u dont want it to fall out of the skky allways keep the kite infront of u when u do a jump. Make sure becaise learning to jump will get frustrating if u dont keep the kite infront of u.
OK but how you make sure your kite keeps infront of you and NOT behind ?. Usually at the begining you are in the same line with your kite and this falls !!!

The proper foundation for jumping is to use load and pop first instead of sending the kite. When you are comfortable getting pop, then start using the kite. To get pop, keep the kite still at 11:00 (or 1:00). Progressively load your edge until it releases and you catch air. It is best to do this before learing to send the kite because this will ensure your kite jumps are high and vertical instead of low and long, they will be in control, and that your board will stay on your feet.
And make sure you are not using a board leash.
When you do start sending your kite back, send it from 10:00 or 2:00 max, don't send it from any lower.
And if your kite falls in the water, or you keep landing on your butt and sinking, you need to remember to send the kite forward when you reach your peak.
