Can somebody using a Toro 8 comment on its wind range, stating also his weight and board model.

I'm particularly interested in it's top end.

Cheers,
Mike

Thanks Sake but I need this info quickly

I just ordered a Toro 8 and 10 to complement my Toro 14 and I'm still not sure if I should have gone for the 6 instead of the 8.

My aim is to be able to COMFORTABLY ride upto 30knots (and still handle the occasional gusts).

My fear is that the 6 would nead a lot of wind to give me a fun ride (25knots+ ??) which would greatly reduce its use.

ps. I used the 14 two times so far and I enjoyed it best when I was really powered up. I expect the smaller sizes to be even better.

Cheers,
Mike

I only used this kite twice so I cannot comment much on it yet.

As I said on an earlier post, I used it in conditions up to 17 knots.

I'm 63kg and ride a WT147 with straps.

At 17 knots I felt really really powered up but could still handle it (I lost my edge once or twice but regained control soon after).

Jumps were impressive at the kite's top end but I still haven't figured out how to jump properly in lower winds.

I come from a high AR kite background so it needs some getting used to.

I'll try to write some more comments in a couple of weeks when I have more time with the kite.

Hope this helps.

Mike

Hi Mike,

which High AR did you fly before moving to Toro ? Could you explain a bit the differences in feel ? Why did you go for an "intermediate" ? You´re first impression - lots of hype around the Toro or really a quantum leap ?

be careful with the 14 m toro as i saw two big toros tear in half the other day within minutes of each other in light wind with only small impact with the water. i dont think they will cover this with warranty
