Personally I like what Fo has to say (usually anyway) but this isn't the first time it happened to him. And when he rejoined, under an alias, his posts were really good for a while but over time his comments got increasingly personal, just like they did the first time. I think Toby has to walk a fine line, he banned Fo when things got out of hand but then let him back and I'm sure he will find a way back again and for a while I'm sure he will be a little more sensitive. And the first time he got banned there was a post just like this one, hard to please everyone when you have this many users.

Thanks, Toby. You made the right decision. I like much of his commentary, but he would frequently go too far on topics. You have always given him a lot of chances and let him run with plenty of rope. He has some great opinions and valuable no-bullshit advice, no doubt. But, you need to manage the forum so people can have more civil discussions/debates and less flame wares. It is those attacks and bad vibes that drive people to smaller local forums if they feel they can't ask a "stupid question" here. (which a great too, but they can't match the readership of KF)

No Fo??

This website just became a lot less interesting.

I can think of a few posters that I think are complete A**holes, but I would not want them removed either.

What a bunch of whiners!!!! You might want to check and see if you still have a pair. I am betting you don't.

Change the name to "PIMP and HO Kite Forum" and only allow "Happy thoughts" to be posted.

OR

Perhaps you should create a sub forum for hypersensitive posters where you are not allowed to post anything that may hurt someones feelings.

As you can see I post under my real name and try to contribute to this forum constructively.

Re Fo,,,, and some others like him;
IMO these guys are often taking the piss to try and bring a bit of balance to a topic , and most times make valid points.

A lot of the threads get hijacked by opinions etc that are often inaccurate and not based on practical experience.

It is a shame that some people get a little precious and defensive when their theories are challenged, or in some cases they get the piss taken out of them for being so one track.

Its a big call to dump guys of the forum.

This forum suffers from being abused by blatant pimping and brand promotion,,,, mostly disguised to the unaware,,,,,,,,,,so if you are going to ban the likes of Fo,,,,, what about having brand pimps out in the open posting clearly under who they are , and what company they support ??

You might find that the above suggestion would bring a bit of balance across the board and make this forum a more reliable and helpful resource, and guys like Fo might naturally take a more constructive approach.

My 2 cents worth :thumb:

it is good, when someone states his opinion
it is good to have different opinions
it is good to have controversy discussions
it is good if pimps get called out

it is bad to disrespect other people and their opinions.

There are still many people out there who bring their message across, but still respect all others.
The ones who do not, should get banned. In this case it was Fo, and I don't see anyone else who should get banned as well.

And even if you signed up with our real name, you should post your opinion...nothing wrong with that! We want to hear it!

DIRESPECT
is a part of life
We fukin need it
\ to know the difference

homogeneous babble talk and back patting (need a lot more)
if you don't want your tender feelings,
hurt
stay under the bed

The only Thing about this forum that stands out is the
VAST difference in peoples realities

and the simlarities.

Everyone will cook in thier own soup in the end.

As you can clearly see some of the best contributors on here have
said so.

respect is earned
even here

No, disrespect and disagreements are two vastly different things. It is not about back patting or being homogeneous, you can respectfully disagree and discuss based on facts and opinions. Respect is never "earned" because that assumes you have to meet some arbitrary standard set by someone else. Respect is given. That said, I don't really know much about why and how Fo got banned again.

So want to play on words
or what?

I earn respect from others
in order to do that
they must give it to you
if I earn someones respect
of course I have to meet thier standards
you can't earn respect by setting your own standards

That my friend is called authority
forcing your will upon others by mandate

as opposed to people wanting to do things you because THEY want to.

I said we need more love (back patting)and less hate (disrespect)

But some have chosen to exercise thier right to come down on the things that
irritate them.
some find it hateful
some find it other ways.

In my expierence people who have an axe to grind have some issuses themselves
revolving around the thing they purport to dislike so much

gay bashers are a prime example

Ok, I've got to get it off my chest and spell it out for all to see because I'm getting an ulcer keeping it inside.

My take, based on events and certain responses, is that RickL told Toby:

Ready for this?

It's either him or me.

It was not, in other words, based on Toby's initiative. If I'm wrong, I stand uncorrected.

But I've got to run because another episode of All in the Family is about to air.

(hey blowhard, any'a them liberty caps popping up in yo hood? Send some down to beherenow to alleviate the stress)
