All of the modern C-kites are described like kites with the depower range approaching that of an SLE. And all of the SLE are with "C-kite feeling"
So which one is better C or SLE??
Naish Torch 09 14m or RRD Obsessin 12m in particular??
Best Wind

The Torch is a better unhookt kite, and the Obsession is a better alround kite..

There is a huge difference in how different brands/ types of SLE and C kites perform
In both types of kites the canopy profile, tow point, aspect ratio, bridle layout etc are going to determine the different performance in terms of turning speed and radius, lift and boost and depower etc.
C kites and SLE kites overlap a lot now in different areas of performance.
The feel and ride of kites varies a lot , so it is important to try out gear before you buy it to make sure you get what you like.

The Obsession is has the most c-kite like feel of all the SLEs I've tried. That's usually the first thing most people I've let demo the kite say, too. Also, power per square meter is phenomenal.
Haven't ridden the torch since '07, so I can't really compare.

Hey Sunnyboy,
If I remember correctly you still have hard decision to make aren`t you?
Both are great kites but quite different at the same time.
The Obsession could be considered as C- ish SLE kite, but still it isn`t a C though...
-/wish I were able to test Havoc/
So, go test both /I know you can/ then you`ll know.
Regards,
L.

Funny how everytime this forum starts to suck the same stupid questions pop up by some "new member" to get the treaths going again.
C vs SLE has been dicussed about one million times without any real answer.

I think its a fair question as kites have developed.
PAFFs answer sounds good to me and reflects what the kites are aimed at.

Thanks for all of you
I think I made my choice...
The SLE kites have better low end, they are more stable, water relaunch easy, have better de-power and turn faster, but C-kites are better for un-hooked.
I don't know which one has better pop, hang time and jumps higher...
