Why inflatables on the snow??!!

Why inflatables on the snow??!!
I've never kiteboard on the snow but have experienced snow and chilled temps and can't imagine how hard it is to set up gear.I'm very curious to why people are using Inflatables kites shouldn't foil be the kite of choice? since you don't have to break down your kite and lines you can wrap up your bar and lines and throw it in the bag.

If somebody is primarily kiting on snow I would say go for the foils but I think the majority of kiters also ride on the water when it is warm out. Most people don't want to buy a second quiver of kites.

Yup. We kite on water 6mon of the year and on snow about 2-3mon so most use their summer quiver year round. The foils are nice tho, easy land/launch/setup... compared to the LEI that is.

We use water kites because they have way more performance than a foil. I choose to fly a foil only if there is a lot of sage or grass poking threw the snow just so I don't damage my water kite. Where I kite can be gusty and tube kites handle that better as well! good luck! waynepjh

I use my Waroos all year long, since I have plenty of room in my full size van I can keep the struts inflated so I only have the main bladder to pump. Most of the riders at our spot use inflatables in winter.

At our spots, people that only kite during winter got foils, and the rest inflatables. So yes, money is a major factor, why buy a quiver you only use a few months each year....

Performance!!!
foils are so far behind tube kites in jumping and turing, and pretty much everything else for me.
The set up and pack down is nice though on foils.

I think most has explained why tubes are used on snow, when you do both water and snow.
When only on snow, I think I would use foils too so the pump is not needed.
And the foil rigging is much easier, true.
But I dont get the "have to break down" ? (why do so many think foils are easier to pack down ?)
A tubekite takes very very short time to pack fully down (onepump kites have no strut contra vents, so when you open the valves, it goes flat instantly, and no messing around with anything in the cold) - and you dont have to remove the lines here either if you dont want to !
In fact I've used a lot of time pressing air out of foils, when packing down - so I dont think it is faster, honestly - in some cases maybe slower in fact
I am talking about "water" foils though - as fully open cell foils would be VERY fast to deflate (but unusable on water...)
But still - it does not take long to de-rig a tube kite !
The bag is somewhat the same size for both types also - not much difference.
But rigging a foil is way simpler because you dont need the pump
