2009 SS Celeritas Tri 5'4"

Postby shymac » Fri Apr 17, 2009 12:26 am

Just had to show the finer details of this sick surfboard.

Had a epic session yesterday in the Hood with powered 8M and strapless Celeritas. Couldn't be more stoked on the performance of this board. TOP NOTCH!

Smooth in the chop, fast in the turns, loose in the tail, bite in the drive, and sick for non-donkey ariel hits of the lip. With the fat tail it pop like mad and releases very clean and quick of the water. Did land them all clean but the board took my abuse very well. No dents anywhere...

Hopefully these shots temp you into trying one or looking for more info regarding this board.

:thumb: Just rode the Celeritas strapped in small waves, side-onshore.

Pro's: Very fast upwind, easy to jibe, super maneuverable on the wave face and in the flats. Planes up with little kite power needed and blasts down the line without needing to be pulled. If you kite sloppy waves this board is great fun, but would also be insane on a lined up mushy point break with side-off wind like Punta San Carlos... and being short it jumps great too.

Con's: being a tri fin and wide it has some bounce in a straight line, but nothing like some of the older surf designs out there, and strapped in toe side is fatiguing so learn how to jibe or ride strapless!

I'm totally stoked on this board! At 80kg I was throwing up so much spray off the top of waist high waves that it hurt my face running into it down the line!

Verry interesting information, BUT would you say that the board is still fine for 30 knots days although it's wide especially at the tail area?

And tail being very wide, how does it carve or is it more hack'n slash type of board, I mean what are the bottom turns like?

Thanks! :jump:
