Hi,
today very windy, gusty here in Belgium. Tried the X2 10 but whith a north bar and lines. I put the lines on the outer knot and NOT on the outer little ropes.
And I had too much while windsurfers where out on 4.5 and 4.7 ( average guys)
My weight is 72 kg and have a big TT 1,65 m on 40 . Should I change my configuration, try a smaller board in these conditions to increase the windrange of my X2 10?
( wednesday I'll receive my X2 bar with the X2 14 maybe this will help too)
thx,
David

i don't know how the x2's trimmed propely, but if the windsurfers go out with 4.5 sails, there's a lot of power ...
and a lot of control is necessary to handle that ...
when you get too fast every time a gust hits you, a smaller board will help.

I can fly my X2 10.0 from 5-7 Bft.
The 7 Bft will be a fight.
Weight 90 kgs and a 144 wakestyle board.
To handle the power you need a smaller board with good edges or good fins, otherwise you can't "keep the kite low and edge hard" which you need to stop th epull form the kite.
But with this wind you can have a great time jumping, since it gets you up real high and gives you a nice hangtime.

and what do you do in the swelly choppy conditions. Because that's the problem that whith this speed (I want to make for jumping) I hit a wave and cannot edge anymore when I come on the top of the wave. Then I start bouncing on my board and crashed several times. But when there were no gusts I could control the kite perfectly and really make sick jumps.
greetz,
David

Hi David,
In choppy conditions it is hard to jump and edge. I experience the same in choppy water-it doesn't get me that high up like when riding in flat water.
