i have done some searching and cant seem to find any information on it, except from north. if anyone know how this kite is or when it will be released, also north is talking about this function similar to the cabrinha ids.

It's now official on the North's webpage.
North had this "revolutionary IDS" on the EVO bar early in 2008 already. The system is very easy: the "mini 5th line" - instead of going all through to the leading edge- ends up somewhere in the middle of center frontline, so if you release, the kite stays on the frontlines.
The Rhino 2009 can be used either with the 5th El bar or with Scepter (4line bar with this mini 5th line).

Anyone who has tested the new rhino yet??

I got a few days of riding my new 14m Rhino back to back with my Vegases last week - let me know what you want to know about the kite and I can try and give you my impressions of it.

Allright than, how is it compared to the R8 in similar size?
