more size and weight are a plus in collisions

Mass does have a partial advantage, but impact absorbtion is far more important.

The lack of crumple zones and the fact that the Hummer frame protrudes form the back of the car
is what heads to it's very poor rear end crash test rating.

When an overly ridgid truch is hit the shock wave is very sudden and is transmited through the driver and passangers body.

Most mortal car accidents are not caused by passangers getting crushed, but by the shock wave that is transmitted through the car and by the sudden deceleration.

This is important because there is very little you can do about rear end collisions.

The reason why the Murano did so well in crash tests is that it combined mass and INTELLIGENT DESIGN.

What's even more funny is that you try to make your point by showing a picture of a piece of crap American School bus..... busses that are well known for bad handling, heavy pollution and terrible safety rating.

You've got to ask yourself one question.

Would I rather be the bug or the windshield?

So what's it gonna be ....mass or crumpled intelligent design?

Quagmire of sorts. Let's all ride bikes.

Seriously when I'm riding I hate trucks but when I want gravel for my road I don't like using my bike trailer to get it.

Well I'll stick to
looking out for coolcars (vans)
that are ideal and or fun for getting
equipment and riders to a beach

I think that the Element is an amazing ly well designed van
and also that it look soooooooooooooo cool
as cool as the scion Xtra Boxy
thats my take on vehicular style
My GMC Safari is like the best van ever
boxy with few windows and Black!

some of you sacrifice practicality for a hyper-miler sense of
style and enviro-mental respect

and now there seems to be a niche for most safest kitesurfing
car for getting to the beach.

I like to be able to bring a lot to the party.
canoe, party island, back up kites for freinds
big cooler, extra pumps , more

that bus looked cool to me
if you look closely you just might notice that its got
some custom extra wacky headroom
also noteworthy is that @ the traffic lite
the dirver felt it necesary to tell me that the thing runs on discarded
cooking oil, vegetable oil, fry-daddy liquid!

this thing stuck to the hitch
counts as a car for the beach too!

Outboard Evinrude
90 horses power!
2 stroke for the best in power 2 weight ratio
boat people that I have met tell me that 43mph
is kinda fast for a 17 footer.
seats 4 max, no bow rider
or seat belts, so i'll drve it careful!

of course depending on how often you re-gravel your road, why don't you just rent the car when you need it?
It is pointless to have and pay for a car that you need once a year if you save $10k on just renting it when you need it...of course IMO.

Since waterproof seats and room for gear can't exist with luxury and performance. I'm considering the Toyota FJ. I'm thinking black with a 3" lift and mean tires. I would have to sacrifice the fun of a sports car, but I'm liking the idea of throwing my wet gear in the back and having the freedom hop in with wet shorts.

Here is my "ultimate" custom 100% Electric Car going everywhere.
I have 3 Kites and 3 boards in there.
Now speed: 55 mph but in few weeks will be top speed 85 mph with a custom motor.
Range now: 1 charge about : 45 - 50 mph
Average cost to charge: 55 cents
About 2 Penny / Miles

I'm using at a moment over a100 years technology with also a
" TERMINATOR of 100 YEARS GASOLINE MONOPOLY"
reality check and
" GAS CARS & DIAPERS STINK! SO,
CHANGED 4 THE SAME REASON!
"
Bumper Stickers as you see.
