Now that racing board R&D has settled down a little bit in terms of what type of board works and which doesn't, I think the next point to consider is fins design:

- how many and why? two? four? More than four????
- How deep? any advantage in carrying two 30 cm. salami-chopper-blades?
- How much angle? or... how flat must the board go on the water?
- Curved for the outer face and flat for the inner face, or both curved, or even convexe outer ace and slightly concave inner face?
- Clean, knife-like-cutting fin end or slightly rounder and safer for the rider fin ends?
- How stiff? hard for maximum upwind lift or soft for maximum downwind control?
- Any finbox standard to be set? Future is fine but seems weaker than others and, as it is a thin box, does not allow the fin to be at greater angle than 15º. US Box let's the rider try different fin placements back and forth. Once the fin is in it's optimum place, Mini tuttle seems the best to me.

Picked up a North Race LTD last week. The mini tuttle fins look nice and solid. No slop and a good stable strong connection. What fin systems are available in a mini tuttle? Looking to get some alternate fins. I figure that I can always add a fin box in front of the two if a 4 fin system proves it self to be the best option.
I'll post the tech specs when I get home.

Looking at the Race LTD G10 CNC 15 fins it looks like a 22deg cant angle with a 22 deg sweep on the trailing edge and around 33 at the front. The fin is around 6 inches long and 4.5 inches wide. The cord is widest at around 2/5 back from the front. Front edge is roughly eliptical and the trailing edge strait.

I bought 2 Tarifa Fin Company 25cm race fins with mini-tuttle boxes for my race board project. Tilted 15 degrees (about). Fins have very thin profile.

Going to order 2 more boxes and 2 additional smaller fins and place those boxes somewhere forward. I can remove the fins, or try the big fins forward.

TFC racing fins:
22 cm, 20º canted fins for the back.
14 cm, 10º canted fins for the front (dunno whether they'll give any extra performance...)

Olha o ideal é voce ter varias quilhas, de 17cm até 24cm em varias angulações de 15° até 25° e de varios Rackes. Eu tenho usado prancha de 4 quilhas, só que na frente é um estabilizador de 10cm. Tenho 2 pranchas de tamanhos diferentes e flutuações diferentes, para vento forte e vento fraco. E o ideal é testar bem para voce conhecer bem seu equipamento e competir, de preferencia em etapas do PKRA onde voce aprenderá muito, tem o circuito Americano que tambem é muito bom. Aqui no Brasil o Race tem crescido muito, principalmente na minha cidade, os 4 melhores do Brasil são daqui. Estamos fabricando pranchas aqui na construção Carbon-Sandwich igual as de windsurf e quilhas em G10, G11 e Carbono.
