Colin McCulloch - R.I.P 29 July 2009

Postby fuel » Wed Jul 29, 2009 2:48 pm

Well, woke up this morning and heard the bad news. Colin McCulloch, the legendary Airush and LostCause Board designer, passed away this morning in the UK after a 18 month battle with a brain tumour.

A very sad day for his family, friends and kitesurfing community.

R.I.P.

The guy was a true legend, been lucky enough to spend many hrs at his house drinking strong coffee and talking shop...

Builder of the finest freestyle boards money can buy...

He`ll be greatly missed....

RIP mate....

That is so sad. Still have my 2004 mutant he shaped for me. That will go to the wall the day I don´t use it anymore. I only met him once in person, really nice guy. He will be missed.

For those of you that don't know him, take the time to learn something about one of the legends and pioneers of our sport. :thumb:

"Lost Cause"

Anything but. Colin was inspirational in everything he did, whether it was windsurf, kiteboard or eventually surfboard shaping. Seeing him progress in those two little sheds creating better boards everyday is only half the talent and drive that man had.

He chased his dreams and passions but ironically he did it all for himself and to spend more time with his family. That life has been cut short and is one off life massive injustices.

Colin is it OK for grown men to cry or does that make me a Homo? [:D]

I will miss you

Leon

Colin was a legend amongst the early kiting community ... he shaped a board for Aaron Hadlow when AH was just ten years old. Many of his fabulous boards are in use in the UK today and throughout the world. Many will be going up on a wall in tribute to him.

With thoughts to his family.

RIP Colin.

A very sad loss to the sport and the planet, our thoughts are with Caroline and the kids.
