Surf Board Travel Bag - Channel Island

Postby Uride2 » Wed Aug 05, 2009 10:29 pm

So I got the Channel Island Board Bag.
Not sure if I’m going to keep it or send it back.
How important do you feel wheels are (considering the added weight as well)?
Seems I usually use a cart at the airport anyway.

    Pro’s:
Nice that it’s true 6’3” other bags or 6’6” with “extra room”, don’t need the extra length. Jimmy Lewis 6’3” fits perfect.
Day bag attached for use at your destination to protect your “favorite” board.
    Feels like “bomber” construction.
Easily Fit 2 surfboards plus one twin tip AND a kite or two ( If willing to bust over the 50 pound limit of some airlines).
    OR
One surfboard, one twin tip, and 3 kites for sure (weight over 50 pounds, maybe, maybe not...) This is what I want to travel with.

    Con’s
A little complicated putting it together with the extra “day bag” being the top of the bag and its clipped on, rather than zipper on.
    No Wheels.
17 pounds (I think they are all a little heavy)

Any one really thrilled with their quiver bag? Which one is it?

The other bags I would consider are below.
Each of them of 6’6”, but think they could hold a bigger board than a 6’6”. Longer than I need or want.

Would be nice to have a couple extra buckles if one breaks.
