Hehe time to a new forum then ... fvck Toby greed ... its stupidity at the max to ban kite developers to interact with the end user without payment. I dont ride EH .. but this is stupid and greedy! Toby seems to forget Kiteforum.com roots and what ppl supported it all the way from the beginning. Now Toby got greedy ... bad karma man.

This forum is BS.

What happened to the user contributed kitebeaches database? It gets sold!

Eric and Toby need to sort this one out... I've heard people say; "This is a public forum!!" Not. The public may be invited to play, but it's Toby's ball and he gets to make the rules for his game.

The sad thing - exactly what this sport needs are the small, nimble players to keep the big guys honest.

More on the kite...

Another brand I like: Royal. I've had this 14 Era to go with my R8-14 for two seasons now and really like it. Here I simply put it up in front of the OV-13 so you could get a perspective on the relative sizes. The OV-13 is larger in almost every respect. Look to the left .. you can see what about 5-7kts looks like..

Two things real quick:

1) You need Eric's bar. I have about 6-7 bars and like to fly the Royal with a Best bar, but the setup is wrong for this kite.

2) I'll need to try this in teabag winds, but when you see the kids in Cabarete do a
vertical-rotation-takeoff by pulling in both back lines - it really works! it's cool. I instantly tried it on the Royal - No Go.

More when there's wind .. and I have Eric's bar.

I think it's perfectly fair for Toby to require that a manufacturer support the forum
with some advertizing if the company is going to use the forum to promote their kites.

It takes a lot of work to keep a forum working well and spam free.

One particular thing that kiteforum has doen is too keep advertizing relavant.
All advertizers are relavant to kiting.

What about "Hair Club for Men" ads??

This now puts KF on par with all the crappy paper media, promoting advertisers...

It's the end of the KF empire..

Fred: I agree with you. Advertising here benefits all. The only thing I would require is transparency. You are a big supporter of Armin. If you bought and paid for your kites and love the way they fly, then I think you should shout their praise and defend them against all slights. However, dealers or staff of a company - should have their commercial I.D. on each posting. ...especially, when they post within subjects that are about other brands.

One thing I like about this kite - NO ONE PUMP. I understand many of you like these systems. I've had both and find I can fix a standard bladder in maybe 15min (U-Stick valves make it even easier..***), but really struggled with a Naish Shockwave. It was a nice basic kite but the valve system was really difficult for me to fix. I have not had any problem with my 07 or 08 Rhinos, but dread the prospect of a leak in the buried tube system they have... I'm lazy, so leave my struts inflated (year round) - that's why I make long bags for my kites. The Royal is in hand-me-down bag from the Shockwave...
