Step in the tail on raceboars are to keep the nose out of the water when flying downwind in chop mainly and also helps manuvering the board(big flat tail inst exactly snappy). the implementation on this board seems to be not that good since in this case he sacrifised rail and this will cost him on his upwing tack.
Normally a cutout will be between the 2 back fins but will not go all the way to the rail but inbetween the fins.

How it is on the water?

You ride it flat all the time, right?

Is it compensating the conversion of board edging for more fin area?

Is the big fins drag noticeable, specially downwind?

What is the length? It looks short for light wind, no?

hello, size: 160x60cm,9cm thick; the step in the board is done to have less drag, I ride the board flat so upwind performance is done by the fins mostly.
I'm very happy with it, you need time to get use to it but is going very well upwind with a good general speed

It only looks short because it's real wide. Cool idea. Does it jibe easy?
