Hi Frank !

its good to have more and more companies in the racing game (Cabrinha is the pioneer in this direction - once again) .
So i am really curious to see this board-try it, because untill now the NOMAD is one of the best raceboards out there (and incretibly fast).
Lets see if CABRINHA can beat this...

and of course the BIG question : How many fins will this board have...

regards
Aris

makes sense for Cabrinha to add a raceboard to their line...they have top riders in their team and support world biggest race series (SF).

This new board from Cabrinha should be close to the one Ian Ponting shaped for Damo:

But I'll patiently wait until this one is released as a Limited Edition Production Board :naughty: :naughty:

Aloha-

The boards that were made for Damien were proven to be very fast and competitive. The boards were produced here in Maui as a collaborative effort of myself and Mark Nelson. We also had input of several individuals.

Since the Worlds Mark Nelson and I have been evolving the shapes and fins.

There is a larger version of this board in Florida with the Cabrinha distributor. This board is a bit more comfortable to ride and is suited for lighter conditions.

You can contact me directly at ianponting@me.com

Looks a lot like a mini windsurf board :) Probably require a smaller kite than normal?
Could almost install a mast track and stick a sail on it if you moved the front straps back.

It would be great if we could get boards that we could use for both kitesurfing and windsurfing now that I think about it :) I have yet to try my small kite with a windsurf board. I know some people have.

I've got a LF wave board, like a small surf board, but it didn't work that great for me, still prefer the TT's.

why such a wide stance on these raceboards?

I could understand that you put the front feet a bit further back when going on the downwind course?? not to push the nose in the wave in front of you?

The stance is up to the rider. In general, you need to have a comfortable stance and keep the board balanced.

These boards have the fins pretty far forward so the front foot needs to be up there.
