Sometimes in really light wind, the front are the same size as the rear.
In more wind you reduce the front ones in size, in order to keep control and still be able to push on the rear fins and have low drag (less wetted board surface).
I would no doubt choose the rear fins as the "tuning" set with the fin box, if I had to choose.
Simply because they are the main fins, and you can tune so your stance will be good and relaxed - instead of moving your rear footstrap back and fourth, which would be the only other option if having a fixed finbox

thank you very much Peter
that was exactly the kind of comment / advice I was looking for.
(I read your posts regarding the north2010ltd hence the PM)
what fins are you using now with the north2010ltd in light wind?
One think i didn't understand you say :_those testing prototypes here, and all raceboards I've seen, are NOT having the big ones in front.
not? you mean because they are canted??? ( rrd, rogue wave, airush sector, the fuminis...)
( only north2010ltd comes with smaller front fins )
thanks again
