Snowkite Trip to US

Postby ravil » Fri Feb 05, 2010 1:12 am

Hello all snowkite community! I'm snowkiter from Kazan city mid Volga area, Republic of Tatarstan inside Russia, and would like to try snowkiting in US.
I'm registered in for SuperfFy Open as amateur so I'll have opportunity to visit Utah but I see your have much more good spots. Of course I wanna to try=to explore more. Any advices how to get this in not expensive way are very appreciated.
May be someone makes snowkite trip close to SuperFly dates and could pick up me .
I'm ready to join for getting more fun and sharing expenses . Any other ideas. are welcomed.
I use for mountain Ozone kites Frenzy2007 10m and Access 4m for hard conditions.
Local snowkiter from Salt Lake city Leo wrote me about I don't need in US 4m kite. Is this right for all your spots? What's about winds 15m\s and more?
My previous best snowkite trips:
Imandra Project 2006-2008 in Khibiny Mts in Russian Far North http://picasaweb.google.com/mravil2003/ ... directlink
Ozone Royal Battle 2006 07 in Lagonaki Plato in Caucasus Mts
http://picasaweb.google.com/mravil2003/ ... directlink
I'm non smoking easy going person, light weight - only 60kilo so don't take much space)) used to travel. Have drive license.
More info is here

P.S. Of course if someone from here wants to make something similar in my place welcome! I'm ready to do the best to make your trip safe fun and non expensive..

Yo Ravil. We are in Utah, drop a line and we can see what we can help with. No guarantees, but we are in touch with several kiters that may be able to help out or point you in the right direction.

When do you arrive in USA and how long do you stay for? There are a few other kite events in the mountain region in the next couple months you might be able to hit.

Drop an email to info@windzup.com and I'll get back with you.

Windzup,
Brian Schenck

Thank you Brian very much for your reply.
About guarantees - we have saying smth like that Only one thing gives you full guarantee - insurance policy!)
About arriving\departure - I'm still free about dates and airport\city of entering . New York , Chicago , Los Angeles , Salt Lake City etc.
Of course it would be great to visit Kite Solders but I see it's too expensive for me.
I'm going to stay for 1 or 2 weeks.
Looking forward to see again your nice country

Ravil,
Colorado welcomes you and can provide many opportunities for your snowkiting enjoyment, plus is central to many other spots like Wyoming, Utah and Montana, all you need is food and gas, just let me know how I can help.

The trip plan is ready.
Tomorrow I get started from Kazan for "small" US snowkite trip.
I arrive to Colorado on March 3 and have snowkiting guiding by g-force junkie. Great thanks to him.
I wanna to take part in Dillon Snowkite Open.
I move to Salt Lake City on March 10.
On March 11 I have to get to Powder Mountains for Super Fly Open. If somebody on his way picks me up from SLC it would be fine.
On March 17 come back to commy ..
The trip aim is to explore snowkite places, meet people, make friends. I look forward to seeing snowkite America.
Last weekend I've visited Russian Snowkite event Ryba2010.
Here is small report
