Hi,
Looking to get a race board as cheap as possible, and have been offered an 09 north race ltd for about half the price of the 2010.
But, have also been advised that its too far out of date now to be competetive.
Just wondering if there are any opinions - am i going to get seriously burnt by going for the older version. Don't want to be the dude coming in last in every race! But can't really afford the 2010 either
weight is 95 kg by the way.
Cheers

Competitive the North ltd 09 ? Today ?
FORGET IT.
2-3 years ago maybe...
Buy the 2010 ltd or any other NEW shape raceboard. Specially if you are 95 kilos...
So if you want to be competitive you have to pay my friend.

Thanks,
but maybe to add a bit of substance to your fairly definative reply, could you tell me where the difference is going to be felt most - upwind, downwind, light wind, high wind?
You've used both I assume?
Thanks

I've only seen them on some competitions, and the 09s are really not competitive, and I would say on all of the courses
You will not become last, that is for the guys with the twin tips, but at the moment development seems to be so fast that 09 is really outdated.

You are welcome,
I've tried only the 09 . Any new shape raceboard [as i mentioned before], is way more competitive than this board.
It used to be...ok, but shapes AND size and many other things changed
through time.
[and are still changing]. For sure they are getting huge...
The 09 though, is a very enjoyable free-allround-semi... raceboard but NOT competitive anymore in almost all aspects. [maybe i say maybe its still ok in strong winds on the downwind course..]. But this is not enough.
