How many knots?
20-25?
I've been told they were in 8 today so your guess is about right. Stronger winds expected next week, according to forecast.
I am in Phuket right now to prepare next month's Round the Peninsula Kitepedition (cat cruise), missing good riding days, but will be back in time for pkra.
See you around
Alex

That seems pretty strong for a thermal, can we get some picture and video evidence? Looking forward to it.

Yes you'll need it. I referred to best days. This year is auspicious because most were on 8-9 yesterday and we are not at the peak of the season. Lately, i'd say we've been having 8 size days one out of three. I'll post pics.
The wind is locally strong because it is thermal combined with prevailing. Additive here, subtractive on the other side (Phuket :-(). Furthermore local hill must be adding some venturi effect.
For years I ignored Hua Hin because I relied on windfinder and windguru to assess the conditions there - totally misleading -. I should have listened my friends better...

Wind or no wind, you'll have a good time, we're in Thailand. :cool2:

You are of the boosting sort, aren't you? 12 in 20 knots is not to much for that purpose is it?
:bye:

check out the modified wind speed here, it is based on the live weather station in Pranburi, it is pretty good report of the area, BRING BIG KITES! there has never been a 30 knot day on thermal season.
