Well first board is off the vacuum table and into the paint area now. So while i wait between paint coats sanding etc i decided to have a kick at my second build. Not one to sit idle.
I read a forum topic some where in my travels about a fellow who had made a hollow Mako copy of OR's popular board. I will have to dig around see if i can find the forum it was from.
Anyway the hollow construction technique got my interest so i decided to create one.
Plus i had decided to try out several different styles of building to see which i liked better.
Anyway back to the point.
I had read the hollow boards HWS, where mostly drawn up using a program called Aku Shaper great program. http://aps3000.com/ I hope im allowed to post links if not SORRY.
Another Fellow also built a hollow mako using 1/8" plywood strips for skin.

This fellows post is a good one shows how to use the basics of AKU , again with the link
This building technique is not for the faint of heart.
So i did my layout and playing with AKU developed my patterns printed out a crap load of paper and began.
Used 1/8" backer board for my templates, transferred templates to my strongback material 1/4"
baltic birch ply.
Set it up notch cut ribs to center stringer and jigged up on building table.
Start to this stage about 6 hours, took a little bit to get used to AKU.
Anyway some pics of the ribs/stringer set up ready to start striping. going to use 3/16" bead and cove cut cedar strips.
Cheers and happy building. Yea the Dogs a Ham loves getting into the pictures. When he is not stealing my wood bits that is.
