Minor update ...been busy with other stuff.
So i had thought about my reinforcements inside the board for support for fins, straps, and handle.
I came up with the idea of using 1" cut cedar plugs placed where bolts would go and adding support between the skins of the board. Will drill into these later and place inserts and epoxy.
That step done and half the top planking applied i started to fill the cavity with spray foam.
will give the board more buoyancy and make the board more solid overall. This stuff really expands,if you do not have a free area for the excess to go it will blow your board apart. This is why i started to fill it at this stage lots of room for it to expand.
only 8 more strips to go and board will be ready for shaping and glass work.
Oh and an answer for Nico sorry i missed it. The strips i just apply random i don't try and color match strips i like the flow of natural wood look rather than trying to color match.
Cheers
