Short Review Wainman Hawaii Rabbit 6.5 / 9

Postby pim » Wed Sep 10, 2008 8:36 am

little update on the kites , had some time on it now and i am
realy impressed !! had a sesion yesterday was out on the gypsy
25 / 30 knots lots of power and very predictable ,
my friend was out on a 9 crosbow and he was supprised i had power enough
with such a small kite ( before the sesion he said , you are going out with
this small kite?!? )
ride it on the frond med setting and the back fast setting for now, will
experimend a bit . quality is gread and i realy like the simplicity of the kite
and the bar !!! first time a swivel that works .
ride them 90 % of the time with my rawson quad ( gread board but thats another story )
the kites are very good for waveriding , very fast if you put them on the fast setting
bar pressure is just right ,enough to feel where the kite is . you can trim the kite
to be ultra fast and if you put them on the slow setting they are gread for wake style .
overall realy happy with the kites !

bought them from www.skybanditz.com , gread service and free shipping !

Hi there,

I have a bought 2 Wainman Rabits. the Gypsy (6.5m) and the smoke (9m), no need for the 12m boss for me really.
they are amazing kites, super quick, amazingly grunty. As an all round kite it is what I have been looking for, great for surfing due to its speed in the turns, and insane for unhooking (a real old school grunty pull to it).
Wainman has bought the excitment and idea of kiting being an extreme sport back into the World so I thank Lou.
I found a great review of them at

http://www.kiteverde.com

take a look.

Lou hasn't got any of the boards in production yet. As for the bar it is the ea\siest bar I have ever seen very simple to use and in line with the rest of the kit, looks super pimp (have seen pictures of all the Wainman kit at

Hey, I was wondering how these kites are for beginners. I havn't flown one yet but I am thinking they might be good for my students. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Also, I'm doing a lot on the snow AND on the water and was looking for a little info on their snow performance, ie snow relaunching etc.

The kites relaunch great on the snow. Best part is that they will revers relaunch when the wind is super light....its a must have feature for LEI's on the snow.

I know there are some schools using the Rabbits for teaching. A great kite for newbs cuz you can set the kites to slow with heavy bar feedback and the construction is bomber for those hard crashes.
