Noob from Colorado here. I'm just back from visiting family and windsurfing in Corpus Christi. Last Friday there wasn't enough wind to windsurf, so I went over to the kiteboard beach in town and watched the International Kiteboard course racing championships. WOW! Yep, I've caught the vision. Those guys and gals were absolutely cooking in ~10 knots of wind. They sailed a standard upwind/downwind triangle course; upwind speeds were amazing. Very exciting to watch.
So, now I'm selling all my windsurf gear, planning lessons, and shopping for kite gear to leave down in Corpus Christi.
I'm interested in fast cruising on small chop and/or flat water. I'd also like to get involved in course racing for fun. Corpus seems to be such a great place for it.
See you on the water.
