Hi,

If you mean the Reel Leash® Retractable Board Leash from Oceanus, you can find it online at NSI at http://www.northshoreinc.com

Good stuff!

or go to your local petstore and buy a retractable dog leash, works just as well, and is half the price....

Doesn't a dog leash corrodes in salt water?

the reel leash also breaks quite easily. the strap seems to snap too easily. and the reel leash does not stop the spring back of the board all the time. it is not fool proof at all. But, it is the best leash around. i too would go for the pet leash if i didn't already have thereel leash.

I think it works as advertised and will not retract the board towards you. But the quality has been real suspect. I had one and the brass clip broke, and the line broke and they are really meant for beginners. They do have a new model with beefed up line and attachment clips that may hold up better. I sent mine back and they fixed it for free, so the customer service is good. You can get them at any kiteshop.

These things are not super strong. As others said, they have got better.
Customer service from both NSI (distributor) and Oceanus (manufacturer) is great (both offered to upgrade my broken one). These things are not perfect. You can still be hit by the board, but they are useful in difficult conditions (e.g. very cold water).

Cheers,
Dave

I also had the brass clip break on me, replaced it with a stainless one. The leash itself seems pretty strong, I've been dragged hard in the water and it held up. These leashes come in very handy when you are trying to learn to ride without a board leash but want to have something available to keep your board around while trying to relaunch the kite, or in any other emergency.
