London, UK

Postby allenb » Tue May 04, 2010 10:59 pm

I am new kiter that is going to be moving to London for the summer. Can any one tell me what the weather is like and what equipment I will need. I also need to learn where the beaches are and how to get there. I have a 12m 2008 best nemesis and 130 2009 liquid force board.

Yea you have got it about right. Southend is more or less as close as you can get to London and do some kiting. However, you should also take note that the south coast is not that far away. Certainly by train you can get there inside a couple of hours, on a good day.

Complete bollox!!!

If you live near Heathrow, or in Ballam, or Croydon, or Wimbeldon, or Hammersmith, or Wandsworth etc. etc. etc. then the south coast is closer and more convenient by both private and public transport.

Kitebeaches is next to useless and that London info is just plain bollox. Follow the link that yzbob posted to get some actual information.

Here's some info on Shoreham Beach, located on the south coast. I used to commute to Brighton which is just down the road. From London Victoria or London Bridge it's about an hour and half by train!
