Hello from Dubai

Postby Chocoholic » Thu Jun 17, 2010 8:13 am

Hello All,

I live in Dubai and am brand new to kitesurfing - having been wakeboarding for a few years now.

I'm just finishing up my beginners course and have been using the new Slingshot Key HD 13m kite, which I've found pretty userfriendly to be honest.

Looking foward to getting tips and advice from the forums :D

Hi Toby,

Light to moderate winds mostly. Most people I see out are using 13m kites, the biggest I've seen is probably 16m.

It's definitely more windy in the winter here though, which is the better season for it. Winds on average go up to about 16 knots at the moment, with the occasional blowier days.

14°C? Yikes! We're completely at the other end of the scale, although the sea is like soup at the moment and not particularly refreshing.
