or are they wide open and tidal like last season. word is that northern brazil had a pretty mild rainy season this year. anyone been to tiaba or others yet and want to share conditions?

yes, pretty dry this year, this is why the wind didn't really stop to blow.
Taiba should be closed, but I will ask and confirm.

Taiba has lots of space and nice waves.
Still need to find out if it closed now or not...so far no luck...

Hi, there are many other spots than just the "sealed lagoas" in North-East Brasil. Just very close to Taiba, there is Paracuru with a fantastic natural lagoa (not sealed), and that is very much apreciated by beginners or freestylers. This sucks, I wanted to stay in Taiba with my girlfriend in October and get her kiteboarding lessons. Since the lagoon is tidal now does that mean that it wouldn't be an ideal spot for a beginner. Any other suggestions or do you think things will change in any way in october or other spots near Taiba will still be good.
