Thai Airways - Bali - baggage allowance

I am going to Bali with Thai airways..... Does anyone have experience traveling with Thai airways with kitesurfing equipement??

Straight through to Denpasar, Bali - I believe you can take a surfboard (kiteboard) for free.
If you ring Thai Air directly and finagle, you might get an allowance to have a small kiteboard to Thailand ... make sure you call Thai Air and get it in writing though!

Ya, ive used them a bit over the last 4 years and havent had much friction in regards to oversized bags

They used to have a 25kg limit but have recently reduced it to 20kg :(

Leaving NZ going to BKK they pretty much let you take what you have without any penaty fee's but have now seemed more pre-occupied with charging for "sports equipment" leaving BKK so be aware

The last time i had to open my kitebag and let them see if i had anything but i leave my clothes on top to aviod any unpleasant repercussions and they let me thru ok
