Hi,
I was wondering if anybody went there to kite recently. I would like to know what winds to expect (in which months during the winter), what accomodation for a month would cost, is a rentacar necessary, etc.
Thanks for any tips.

No rental car needed , we just got back from 8 days at Barra Grande Kite Camp which is expensive but I am sure you can find cheap lodging in town. The wind season is July-December with July usually on the lighter side. We kited on 11M mostly with several days of 9M. We are back in Prea where kite size is at least 1-2 smaller than BGK. Hope that helps.

right now the wind is around 24 knots. the weather is stable with occasional scattered clouds - so no interference with the trade winds and the thermal effect....
there is actually wind available from June until end of Jannuary.
the best months are from August until december. Jannuary could already be a bit more unstable but it´s actually weaker to expect. this is depending on the rainy season. this year there was hardly rain so the wind actually never stopped.

Hello!
How is better to go from Jeri to Barra Grande?
Transfer by car costs 450 reais one way. It's a bit expensive for me.
Do you know another options?
Kiteregards, Vlad.

@ Vlad
- cheapest way - make a downwind
- going with public transfer to Camocim (D20) the further by bus
- private transfer - costs
- check is there is an empty seat for a trip to lencois/Maranhenses and hop on......
