Riding a North board will extend the range of a North kite. It may sound like BS, but a bunch of local riders have now had the chance to ride the Dragon boards. We all feel we can hold power easier, we all jump higher, and get high more often, using the Dragon. Our old boards just don't seem good anymore. Maybe the boards do need to be designed to match the kites.

Hello Dwight, I am 104 kg and kite most of the time in too little and gusty wind conditions, if I buy the R2 20 what kind of bord would you then recomend?

About the quiver: I now own a R2 16 and 12 and they overlap to much. I'm thinking of getting an R2 8 to extend the range for high winds. If I could change I would exchange the 16 for a 20 to be able to start earlier. My (educated) guess is that the low-end of the 12 will overlap with the high-end of the 20. So my quiver would be: 20-12-8 all Rhino2's.

Dwight is right on. I am one of the local riders that was able to try the Dragon.

The first time I rode the Dragon L, there was just enough wind to fly my 16m Toro2. The board was crusing as well as my big RRD 150 asym. Yesterday I tried the Dragon S in around 20mph with my 12m Rhino2 and could hold it with no problem. When I needed to edge hard through some big gusts, it never lost it's edge, I could really push hard against the board. It only had the four big fins on it and it held the edge until the kite ripped me off the water with more consistant high jumps. To give you an idea, I pulled off quite a few 1440s and almost landed a 5 rotation jump.

If going big is what you want, this is the board.
