Argentina, is not only home to the first ever PKRA World Champion Martin Vari, it will also host the 8th stop of the 2010 PKRA World Tour season. The famous Patagonian town of Bariloche will hold an outstanding event not to mention the first and only competition being held on a lake this season.
Freestyle and Course Racing will be the two official disciplines, and we expect to have many new riders from numerous parts of the South American countries such as; Uruguay, Venezuela, Colombia and Brazil as well as a large representation of local Argentinians who will join the usual world cup veteran riders in delivering an amazing show to the Argentinan crowd. With only 3 events left in the 2010 season, it will be a tight race for the world championship title. In the men's division, Andy Yates, Alex Pastor and Youri Zoon are only a few points apart and this event could make all the difference as to who will be crowned the 2010 World Champion. In the women's division, 2009 World Champion Bruna Kajiya will be competing at her very best in hopes of breaking down the lead that current tour leader Gisela Pulido has.
Riders are to expect very different conditions on Lake Nahuel Bariloche, and possibly the coldest event of the year. The preparations for the event are going very well, and the organizers are getting advice from Martin Vari on the event setup. Argentina 2010 will make a big impact on Kiteboarding.
