Caution Santa Cruz 2011 Spitfire

Postby screwfootsc » Tue Sep 07, 2010 10:29 pm

Hope everyone is having a grand week so far.

I had a chance to fly for a few hours the 2011 7M Spitfire this weekend in 24-28 mph. To give you an example of the pull of this kite, I am 210 lbs roughly and was in the above conditions.

All I can say is that I am stoked for the new line of gear Caution is about to put out. Peter has done an insane job with the design as always as he has been designing gear since virutally the beginning of this sport.

For those of you who are fans of the 2009-2010 zombie which was a huge hit for Caution, the Spitfire has seriously put a solid mark on wave/freeride kiting. The characteristics are as follows:

1. Improved range (Zombie already had incredible range)
2. Faster, yet smoother steering allowing the kite to pivot more on the wingtips for a C-like feel
3. Improved bar/Lighter bar pressure with full 100% DEPOWER (instantly kills kite) unlike previous models which is a complaint they have noted and improved upon
4. Easier relaunch
5. Smoother across the window
6. So very stable similar to the zombie
7. Built Caution tough

I highly reccomend this kite to lip crackers and those who enjoy a fast, precision oriented kite with all the benefits of a bow for safety, yet higher performance that any kite I have yet to fly. Everything from the bar pressure to range has improved and it makes the 2011 Caution line a simple choice. One quiver, one kite model, every quality you need for unhook wakestyle or tearing waves apart.

Some may ask what level of rider should this be for. Honestly, from beginner to team rider/pro level this kite is for everyone. Just like the zombies have been for 2010, Caution has taught on these kites because of the great safety features and ease of flight. Advanced riders will excel with thi kite as well.

This is only the beginning of great things to come with more creative designs in the works.

The 2011 Spitfire will have a 5M, 7M, 9M, 11M, 13M and 16M for the light plagued areas.

Feel free to comment and please stay safe out there.

When will the world outside of the SC city limits get to see them?

The new line of 2011 Caution Spitfire's should be available mid Oct....so time is near. Peter is doing some fine tuning with the kites and graphics/final touches are being done.

Will update once they have a firm date, but so far everything is on schedule!

They will try definately!

This is for sure your answer to a one kite quiver that does everything you could ask for whether it be in the surf or on the flats.

Any closeout deals on 2010 Zombies yet? I can't ever afford brand new gear but would love to get my hands on a 12m Zombie.
