First wakeskate i built,

Two 6mm sheets kauri ply laminated together with epoxi. I painted the bottom before i realized that it was a little bit too flexi, so i added a 6oz glass sheet to top surface, this seemed to stiffen it up a bit. Foam glued to top of deck to give kick ends and sides. Finished with griptape.

Board is very big, works well in light wind and is very lose skatey feel with out fins but still goes up wind really well.

in the first picture with that piece that you have bending to your desired rocker, is that the core of the board or a mold of the board?

Its the board, screws around the outside pull the 2 sheets of ply together. You still need to add weights and clamps to the middle section of the board.

great lookng board. I would thicken or put little grabs on eash nose also. easier on the hands for grabs.

What are the dimensions? How big TTs do you normaly ride?

Oh, and what kind of foam do you use?

Here is the template i used courtesy of baracudda!. Print a4 size. Rocker loss is close to 1-1.5cm i think. so set up the rocker to have about 5 - 6cm. Board is quite big so get going pretty easy. Foam is closed cell, anyting that wont soak up water will work. And grip is skateboard grip from local skate shop. could use an eva/rubber sheet also.

I only installed 1 fin so you can ride it finless and lose or spit it around and use the fin.

My next deck will have more rocker at 1 end, asymetric shape smaller at 1 end and concave top and bottom.

And most important 2 lengths 6mm 5ply kauri sandwiched with 6oz glass ontop, think 5mm would be better thou if you can find it.

Only found out about Baracuddas Gypsy project after this posts here. Briliant idea. Sad though, people who rode it didn't respect the deal. As far as I know, there are no signatures or drawings on the board and I saw only 2 movies and 2 pictures (one is very bad, the board couldn't be identified). Are there any more?
It's not only great, the dud gave his board away for people to ride it, but also gave away a template and measures for 1/4 of the silhuete, for others to make an exact copy of the shape.
Don't mind if I do!

I will definetly use this shape as a guideline and make it a bit longer and wider. I guess 121X43 cm, with no fins. Winter is a great time to get this kind of an build idea. And there will be another board to fool around with in the spring.
I need a new job. Can't get enough of water time.
