Another high basin near Cinnamon Pass. On Friday a few things came together for a dreamy session in Placer Gulch above Animas Forks. (Silverton area) The trail thru the gorge above Eureka was hand dug across the dozens of avalanche cones by other snowmobilers. Also the NNE wind was lined up perfectly for these high north facing glacially carved valleys.

The wind is at the viewers back in this Google Earth image. My GPS track shown in Placer Gulch. The green line was a "kite in the pack" powder run. It was so good there we never checked out California Gulch... Yet! (to the right)

A tiny kiter just left of the historic mining cabin. I parked my kite here and checked out this cool structure.
Lots more to explore!
