thats also why i like a good strapless surfboard. too. if the wind changes off shore, ditch the kite and start paddling back in ( hopefully the wind is not crazy strong to paddle against ) with my personality, I would go for the surf paddle back in they lay in my kite. but on freestyle boards they just don't surf paddle well so you are stuck on your kite or swim. that would have been a stressful night for sure. I got caught i a sudden dead wind with a switch to offshore wind in our local spot a few years back and my kite hindinberged, then I just ditched the kite and swam back in and when i got there the wind switched back and blew the dam kite back to me !!!

Yeah he is lucky to have been found the next day - could have been nasty.
Joselito is such a cool kid tho - he wasn't even fazed by it! It does not surprise me at all that he was sleeping cos he probably wasn't even that worried - that's what kids are like eh.

Sleeping on a rolled up kite out in the ocean man that is pretty amazing What else could he have done??... he could have panicked... I could see me doing that
