To answer your question: Yeah kiting does look cool and may turn a few heads, but it isn't a great thing to mix picking up ladies with in my opinion. As the safety patrol mentioned, you should probably be out far enough from the beach to not be a threat to swimmers and beach goers. So there's that. Secondly, I bet some of us older duffers look like sausages stuffed into too small of casing in our wetsuits........so there's that too. For me the biggest reason is that I just want to concentrate on ripping/having fun/not killing myself or others while kiting. I can get laid any other time.

I've brought a few girls kiting a couple times and it's a fail/fail.
As mentioned, kiting is good when the wind is ripping which = cold, sandblasted, miserable girl on beach. So as soon as you check in or take a break she will be lobbying to leave. Leaving early isn't an option on windy days.

I think a big tweaked grab would get more attention. To the average civilian on the beach, they can't tell how hard a switch mobe or 540 handle pass is. Big air has more Oooooooh factor methinks.

I thought it was the other way around since there are a lot more guys than women kiters.

I gave tips to two of my sister's friends who were looking for sport type dudes. I told them to hang out on kite beaches where its windy enough but not too windy for them to be miserable. So they went, they flirted, and now they are each dating kiter dudes.

Kiteboarding can give you the rockstar edge at the beach. When properly managed it can be very rewarding. Add your experience and techniques when you use kiteboarding as bait for women.

Real riders enjoy when the sand is flying above the beach and when the water is covered with white cap. In those conditions, you do not see at lot of babes in sexy bikini on the beach.

Useless riders enjoy the medium conditions when closed to the shore, they can try miserably the latest handpas they found in a video on youtube. Useless riders go inside to the swimming zones as close as possible to the babes in sexy bikini on the beach.

Useless riders are responsible for complains from other beach users that lead to kite bans which forbit real riders to launch.

Well kitesurfing sucks arse for pulling chicks. you rig up then bugger off into the water hundreds of meters away from the sunbathing talent

what you need to do is get a landboard and belt up and down the beach. The chicks love it. they giggle and laugh and wave and ask questions.

You can take a monster foil out in 10-12 knots (the hotties are still on the beach then) and bust out all sorts of back rolls and grabs within meters of your taught bikini clad audience.

Then when they show interest you land your montser kite. pull out the little 2m foil you magically have in your back pack. And proceed to give them a go...

And before the danger police pipe up. you obviously have to pick an appropriate beach to do this on. landkiting on a beach with 20 000 jam packed people wont work.
My beach is ideal as its about a mile long, 100 meters wide with a cross on wind that allows you to get close to your audience without endangering them....

oh yeah there might be 30-40 people on the beach. most of them hot chicks sun bathing, theres a whole bunch of kite surfers out at sea and one lone landboarder on the beach right in from of them. who do you think they are going to watch/talk too?..

oops now the secrets out. your all going to have to go and buy landboards now.
