I've been riding Hana Crew Boards for the last two months, and they are the best boards I ever used. They are made with Balsa wood core that makes them very light. They are much more expensive than "home made" boards, but they cost less then most boards on the market (in the US).

Western red cedar is good too, structuraly stronger than balsa.
Currently my 136 x 37 = 2.2 kilos wrapped and painted.
